email printBlasted Broccoli

So there’s this dark sexy spot in Seattle called Black Bottle.  There are 2 very important things about this Black Bottle:

  1. Blasted Broccoli
  2. Met husband there

I know what you are thinking…..broccoli??  Seriously?!  Yes.  I’m not lying to you.  If you go there you must try the Blasted Broccoli.  I have turned on numerous individuals to this dish.  Now, if you are like the love of my life and myself…..well…..we don’t get out a whole heck of a lot.  We love our cozy home (especially a midst a cold rainy night).  So I’m all about trying to re-create some delicious goodness in my own kitchen (and hey, then I get a little credit too).  So I found the recipe online through Epicurious.  I was a little weary about trying it……I mean I hold this broccoli to a very high standard.  Could I really knock it out?  Hells yes!

So to my fam and my besties that live all over the US.  Since you can’t make it to the Black Bottle, bring a little Black Bottle to your home, (and maybe you will think of me when you do!).

Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Red Pepper From Bon Appétit

  • 3 1/2 tbsp. olive oil, divided
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Large pinch of dried crushed red pepper

Preheat oven to 450°F.  Toss broccoli and 3 tbsp. olive oil in large bowl to coat.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Transfer to rimmed baking sheet.  Roast 15 minutes.  Stir remaining 1/2 tbsp. oil, garlic, and red pepper in small bowl.  Drizzle garlic mixture over broccoli; toss to coat. Roast until broccoli is beginning to brown, about 8 minutes longer.  Season to taste with salt and pepper.  Serve immediately.
